Publications

The Conference of District Attorneys and its partners publish a number of resource manuals, practice guides, and other materials to help prosecutors carry out their important work. For information on how you may obtain any of the listed publications that are not available in an electronic format, please contact us.

Resource Manuals and Primers

Through grant funding, the Conference creates and updates a variety of manuals, guides, and reference cards to assist prosecutors with particular types of cases, including DWI, child abuse, domestic violence, juvenile law, and more. These resources call upon the collective knowledge of the Resource Prosecutors at the Conference, as well as other experienced prosecutors and nationally recognized experts, to provide a systematic approach to investigating and prosecuting different types of crimes. For available copies of current Resource Manuals or other publications, please contact us.

Now Comes the State

Through grant funding, the Conference publishes its own magazine, “Now Comes the State,” which is sent to all North Carolina District Attorney’s offices for their prosecutors and staff three times a year. The Conference staff and guest authors with subject matter expertise provide timely guidance to prosecutors regarding developments in the law, issues in the field, and helpful news and tips. For available copies of past issues, please contact us.

The Source

“The Source” is a quick-reference guide that summarizes all of the training programs that the Conference has planned for the coming year. This publication is sent to all NC Prosecutors, usually in December of the preceding year. Information about upcoming training programs can also be found on the Professional Development page, available here.

Newsletter

The Conference distributes newsletters and informational publications on a quarterly basis with the support of grant funding. To obtain copies of any of our previous newsletters or publications, please contact us.

School of Government Publications

The North Carolina School of Government provides many additional publications that are beneficial for prosecutors, including the latest versions of NC Crimes, Arrest Warrant and Indictment Forms, and Arrest, Search & Investigation. Prosecutors may obtain copies of these publications through the Online Supply Store of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). Contact the AOC’s Purchasing Services Division ([email protected]) with questions. The AOC requests prior approval from division managers before ordering through the AOC’s online store.
